Like Mother Like Daughter, Like Father Like Son!

… at least when it comes to childhood allergies and asthma.

We’ve know for years that children inherit allergic diseases from their parents, but we didn’t realize  (more importantly) that allergies are actually inherited based on ‘gender.’ New research out of England has discovered that a child is much more likely to develop allergies or asthma if she or he  has a same-sex parent with it.

For example the study found: a mother’s asthma was tied to asthma in her daughters but not to her sons, and father’s asthma was linked to asthma in his sons but not to his daughters.
